The Green Mile is a fantasy drama film directed by Frank Darabont, written by Frank Darabont & it covers the themes of injustice & crime. This film is based on the novel written by Stephen King. The production companies that were involved in this film were Castle Rock Entertainment, Darkwoods Production & Warner Bros. The film is estimated to have had $60,000,000 budget & during the opening weekend it received $18,017,152 (US) & £83,473 in the UK. The Green Mile is based during the great depression, it was originally meant to be based around about 1932 however it was changed to 1935. 

The Green Mile was nominated for many awards & the actors also won some awards from this film. The Green Mile won the 2000 Broadcast Music Incorporated Film & TV award. It was also nominated for the 2000 Bram Stoker Awards. 

The Green Mile stars Tom Hanks (Paul Edgecombe), David Morse (Brutus "Brutal" Howell) & Michael Clarke Duncan (John Coffey). 

One of the key sequences in this film is when John Coffey takes the virus out of Paul's crotch. This is the first scene we see John's powers. 

Another key sequence in this film is when John brings Mr. Jingles (Eduard Delacroix's mouse) back to life after Percy had killed him (Mr. Jingles). 

John curing Hal's (warden) wife (Melinda) from her tumour. Melinda states that she had a dream about John & they found each other in the darkness. 

The execution of John Coffey is a significant scene that caused a lot of emotion for the characters & the audience. Paul did not want to execute him, nor did the other officers however they did not have a choice in the matter. 

The last key sequence is when Paul (the older version) shows Elaine (a friend in the elderly home) Mr. Jingles as proof of the story he told Elaine.
