“Who are you talking to?” – Marla asks “Tyler” when the narrator is outside the room indicating that either Tyler or the narrator isn’t there.

The narrator is on the phone with the officer & he suggests that the bomb was homemade which relates to Tyler because he makes homemade soap & he knows how to make bombs as mentioned before on the aeroplane. The officer doesn’t hear what Tyler is saying to the narrator suggesting that he isn’t there.

The narrator states that Tyler & Marla are never in the same room together which is what the narrator’s parents used to be like so he is reflecting his own experience on Tyler & Marla.

“Not that we don’t want you here” – Narrator

“YOU are such a nutcase”

Marla doesn’t see a “we” she only sees the narrator

Tyler’s burn scar is on the same hand as the narrator’s.

Narrator is talking as Tyler to his manager.

Marla’s facial expression changes when the narrator says, “are we done” suggesting this is a common occurrence.
